Building Scalable, Automated and Agile Security for your Cloud Journey

The rapid shift of workloads to the cloud is creating new risks and cybersecurity challenges. Indeed, in today’s climate of incessant change, disruption, and persistent threats, organisations struggle to keep their cloud estates secure.

Enterprises must consider the following issues:

  • Most legacy security tools are not designed for the dynamic, distributed, and virtual nature of cloud environments. Leading cloud security challenges include misconfigured clouds, unauthorized access, insecure interfaces/APIs, and account hijacking.

  • As remote working becomes more commonplace, organisations need to securely connect remote workers as well as branch offices to ensure that employees are productive and have access to the cloud-based resources which they need.

  • Compliance, governance and risk management structures need to be in place that clearly define accountabilities. It is essential to ensure that businesses have a shared responsibility model in place, which makes it clear which cybersecurity threats are the responsibility of cloud service providers and other third parties, and which are the responsibility of the business itself.

  • Third party risks. The recent SolarWinds attack has highlighted third party risks and the need for robust processes to mitigate these risks, including clear identification of dependencies and accountabilities.

To address these challenges and others, organisations need a set of policies, controls, procedures, and technologies that work together to protect cloud-based systems, data, and infrastructure. From authenticating access to filtering traffic, cloud security must be configured to the exact needs of the organisation.

This panel discussion, brought to you by CDOTrends and Palo Alto Networks, will highlight the unique cybersecurity challenges caused by cloud migration. It will then discuss how cybersecurity risks associated with multi-cloud environments can be effectively addressed.
